libclanlib-dev is too old :(

Dear all,
       I was recently trying to install/play openalchemist
(www.openalchemist) via compiling and came to see that libclanlib-dev
is too old.

In fact there has been a wishlist bug put up on the same subject
sometime ago. Please see

Looking at the qa page it seems it has been staying there for too long
by itself.

While not  a programmer is there something I could do/try to push this
along so we may get one of the newer 2.2.x series up.
