My idea, after a little investigation, would be to have mess as a
component.tar.gz that now Dpkg supports, so we would have the main
mame tarball + a smaller one which would add MAME support. If that's
feasible at all anyway. The MAME source package would produce both mame
and mess.

This would be the optimal solution, but other questions arise: does MESS
release at the same time as MAME? If now, would we have to wait for MESS
to release before uploading MAME?
