The haswell Intel drivers on Wheezy (stable) resulted in screen flickering.
The only option I could think of was to upgrade to Sid, which offers more
compatibility through a more recent version of xserver-xorg-video-intel.  After
updating to Sid, the game became unusable; on boot, it produced this error:

I just want to play neverputt.
