we do actually support php7 as of 8.1 (see /php7-ext in the tarball), as we ship php7-mapi for ubuntu 16.04, so it should probably be very easy to replace php5-mapi with php7-mapi (or just php-mapi).. I guess you guys did not yet implement the build change for this (and we probably never told you about it), but I guess you could just hard-code the php7-ext dir..?
