Bug#251376: Further confirmation of yelp/mime problem

I upgraded a woody machine to sarge, and I see what must be the
same problem with yelp: all manuals are being opened as raw xml
files by emacs. For me, too, gnomevfs-info on files such as
user-guide.xml returns text/plain, which I assume causes the
problem. I notice that /etc/mime.types contains the line

     text/xml xml xsl

which seems to be the only line with the xml tag, and this surely
ought to mean that applications should class files with the .xml
extension as text/xml?
