The problem is a g_print statement in gnome-vfs 2.8.
It breaks the protocol that is used between mozilla-bonobo-
plugin and mozilla-bonobo-viewer.

The problem is fixed in gnome-vfs CVS. Hopefully there will
soon be a release of gnome-vfs with the fix included.

The problem is still present in gnome-vfs 2.8.2-1. Those
people that have that version of gnome-vfs, and for which
mozilla-bonobo still works, are lucky. Their browser uses
a cached copy of the plugin registry. As soon as the browser
or any plugin is updated, it will break for them too.
