Bug#280718: gnome-cups-manager: floods central cups printer server with requests

configuration: desktop computer with gnome-cups-manager and cups for one 
               local printer, central cups server with 10 central
	       printers

 effect: the central server is flooded with requests from gnome-cups-icon:

Anyway,  my user would prefer to see only an icon for the local printer 
and not status icons for all printers in the network. Is this
configurable somewhere?
