Agreed because you can't switch input methods in firefox. Otherwise,
an acceptable workaround was suggested.

Feel free to join the discussion! I'm merely doing this to solve your
problem, and possibly help correcting GTK. I'm sure you can express
much more of what you want more clearly than me... ;)
