Severity: normal
I want to watch a DVD having an audio track in "Dolby Digital 5.1".
My soundcard is a "Terratec DMX 6fire 24/96" and needs the ice1712
driver (ALSA). I have configured a default ALSA device so that SPDIF
output is chosen automatically even if the application does not allow
such configuration.
Choosing the Audio output type "AC3 Passthrough" only outputs Stereo (my
AV amplifier says "ProLogic II"). If I start mplayer with suitable
settings, a Dolby Digital signal is sent to the amplifier as expected:
mplayer -vo xv -ao alsa -ac hwac3 -fs dvd://1
or gmplayer with the same options
