Since needs="text" items in standard Debian Menu are all "Run in
terminal" programs, so the impact of this bug which does not run any
console program in xterm is pretty bad.  All important console
application (aptitude, mutt, vim, emacs, ...) does not run now.

Please consider fix for Sarge although this is not really RC  ...
