Bug#273999: gnome-terminal: Command line is trashed with colorized prompt

Put this into the PS1 variable:
PS1='\033[01;36m\u\033[m@\033[01;36m\h\033[m:\w\$ '

Now start to type at the command line until you reach the border of the
gnome-terminal window. You will see that what you type is wrapped before, and
without carriage return.

I think this bug is important because lots of people are using colorized
prompt and this bug breaks the way they work, and they need to modify their
setup if the want to use gnome-terminal.
