Package: capplets
Version: 1:2.6.1-13
Severity: normal

On every login to GNOME on my G5, I get an error dialog saying "No
'/dev/pmu' device found" from gnome-settings-daemon.
/dev/pmu only exists if the kernel was built with CONFIG_PMAC_PBOOK,
this setting doesn't make sense for desktop PPC machines (and for
ppc64 kernels it actually breaks compilation currently).

I see there was an attempt to get rid of that error message before
(#273336) but that doesn't catch all cases. Maybe the code should
just assume that there really is no pmu interface if it doesn't find
/dev/pmu (or if it can't read from /dev/pmu in the no-udev case).
