Version: 2.8.1.1-4
Severity: normal
More of an annoyance than anything else, but still needs to be fixed:
ACME insists upon finding a /dev/pmu whose ownership and permissions match the user currently running the session.
1) This is not practical, as it would require constantly changing the ownership and permissions of /dev/pmu at every
gnome-session start.
2) On PowerPC subarches that don't even offer any /dev/pmu, chaning the permissions would not fix anything; what
needs to be done is for ACME to be smart enough to either recognize the subarch as not being PMU-enabled, or to
ignore the error, instead of systematically annoying the user about a missing device he cannot magically graft to the
motherboard.
This should probably be reported to upstream as well.
