 This was a while ago, there has been no 2.8 release, so noone will
 benefit it.

 I think in theory all stable bugs should stay open, oldstable bugs
 should be closed, but you should confirm this on debian-devel.  In
 practice, you can probably keep >= serious or >= important and security
 bugs open, and close the other, as no update is possible.

 This is probably tightened to the versionning of bugs (ie. a bug
 affects version foo of a package, and you don't need to manage which
 distribution has the bug, since you know what packages versions are in
 each distribution).
