Bug#278509: gdm: adding this [debian/rules] could help

Adding the following line to [debian/rules] would help thin down the number of dependencies on the binary targets:

DEB_CONFIGURE_SCRIPT_ENV := LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed"

It might not make the dependency on Bonobo disappear (as the original submitter of this bug wishes), but it would
still reduce the number of dependencies in a noticable way.
