Bug#345690: totem: Totem is unable to mount DVDs in order to play
them

I've noticed this too -- even when given the path to a symbolic device name
(/dev/dvd, say), Totem dereferences the symlink and attempts to look the
resulting device name up in /etc/fstab. I suppose I could see doing that, but
not to the exclusion of looking up the symbolic names.
(f'rinstance, on my box /dev/dvd is a udev symlink to /dev/hdf; /etc/fstab
contains a line for /dev/dvd, but not /dev/hdf; Totem identifies the device
but cannot use it)
