In the "preferred applications" settings thingy, one can specify a
default browser to use. When setting this to "custom browser", the
string "%s" can be used in the command to specify the url to open.
However, this only works when the "%s" is at the end of the command,
which is very inconvenient.
For example, if you set the custom browser to
mozilla-firefox "%s"
everything works as expected (new browser is started when clicking on
a link in, for example, evolution or thunderbird, and the correct url is
loaded). However, if I set it to
mozilla-firefox -remote 'openurl("%s",new-tab)'
it doesn't work anymore: the browser opens a new tab as expected, but
it tries to load the url "%s" instead of the substituted one. (I also
tried it with different combinations of the quotes.)
