Agreed. It may even be that newer versions of update-manager have a
different manual already. I have decided not to follow the new upstream
versions for Etch since the newest versions were very unstable, while
development for Edgy happened.

I don't know enough of this, but perhaps the doc format has some kind of
conditionals? In the meanwhile I'm uploading a new version of the
package with the new docs replacing the original ones. Thanks a bunch!
