Bug#462942: gdm: restarts the first time username and password is entered

Hi there,

After upgrading to the current version of GDM, I get this strange
behaviour - right after bootup the first login attempt fails (i use the
standard greeter). After entering the password, the screen flicks,
returns to the console briefly, and GDM clicks on again with the
username prompt. I enter it again and it starts the gnome session
normally. If I log out and try to log back in, I don't have this problem
anymore. Yet at the next reboot this happens again. I have found this in
/var/log/daemon.log:
