Bug#481120: gnome-screensaver: need to reconfigure application after upgrade to preserve themes

Package: gnome-screensaver
Version: 2.22.2-1
Priority: minor

After upgrading from gnome-screensaver version 2.20.0-2+b1 to 2.22.2-1
I've found that the screensaver no longer starts my selected theme.

I've poked into Gnome's registry and found that the value of the key
/apps/gnome-screensaver/themes was 'debian-floaters'. Going to the
gnome-screensaver's preference editor application if I select the exact same
theme I previously had I can see that the value of that key now is
'screensavers-debian-floaters'.

With this change the screensaver now fires up nicely. However I'm not
convinced that users need to change the value of a key or go again through
the reconfiguration of an application just because its version changed.
Specially in this case, since the renaming of the theme seems to have been
introduced by the new version (although I don't see anything that stands up
in the changelog describing this change).

If there has been a renaming of themes the application should take care of
converting the old values to the new ones and not have the user reconfigure
the application. This is easily fixed, however, so I'm setting it at a
'minor' priority.

Regards

Javier
