Hadn't noticed that - sorry. I thought Ubuntu packages came from Debian,
but they must have done them by themselves. So Ubuntu is going to have
to deal with that alone.

Unfortunately not. Maintaining a PolicyKit-free fallback is already a
pain - we can't keep two concurrent authentication mechanisms hidden
between #ifdefs... :-)

So for now you have to stick with the gnome-system-tools 2.27.2. I'm not
sure about the 2.28 stable release, but I guess I won't make it work
with PolicyKit < 0.92 (a.k.a 1.0). Can I do something to help you in
that regard, or is it OK for you to ship the gst version 2.27.2 (which
are quite stable, including mostly bugfixes)?
