Interesting... I just checked and there are several gconfd-2 processes
running!

        $ pgrep -fl gconfd
        3488 /usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconfd-2
        3851 /usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconfd-2
        4289 /usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconfd-2

        $ ps u 3488 3851 4289

I just killed them, then changed my desktop background, but nautilus did
not notice.
