Bug#492840: shortname=mixed doesn't help

I've got shortname=mixed, and this doesn't help.  From /proc/mounts:

/dev/sdd2 /media/JOHN\040GOERZE vfat
rw,nosuid,nodev,uid=1000,fmask=0022,dmask=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=utf8,shortname=mixed,utf8 0 0

I have folders named variously F44, f47, etc. and it appears to be a
case-sensitivity issue.

rhythmbox needs to make a case-insensitive search, not rely on kernel
options.
