I suspect it is due to

You can try two things:
- Revert this commit and recompile glib2.0 to see if it fixes the crashes
- Install libglib2.0-0-dbg and libffi5-dbg and get a backtrace or a core
dump. For the latter you'll probably need to adjust ulimit.
