great - could you share some packages? I already seem to have the
version in unstable installed, and also have problems working on
this package.

Hmmm... what would be the justification for 'serious', and why wouldn't
you do it yourself? Did you notice the recent discussion about the BTS
and escalating bugs on -devel@?

Btw, I didn't find the appropriate repository and commit, so it becomes
a bit hard to experiment, as the mentioned paste at ubuntu.com has
been deleted, too.  I tried gstreamer/gstreamer and gstreamer/common -
everything else looked already non-functional at the surface (eg why
would I search gstreamer/www for that?)... Do you want suggestions for
improvements in that freedesktop archive organization (off-list)?!?
