The 'Suspend' and 'Hibernate' options are not in the standard menu. If 
you want these, you can install the package gnome-shell-extensions and 
activate the alternative status menu extension in the gnome-tweak-tool.
Alternatively you can install the extension from:
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/5/alternative-status-menu/

If you want these things to work, you will have to use systemd as PID1.

This can be achieved by using the boot parameter init=/bin/systemd or by 
installing systemd-sysv.
