I've done some further testing - hopefully this information is useful. I can only reproduce this when installing XFCE via the Debian Installer (Alternative Desktop Environment), and then updating to testing. A minimal install, updating to testing and *then* installing XFCE doesn't reproduce this problem. Thanks, Nick
