Package: gvfs
Version: 1.22.2-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

After installing Jessie on clean hardware, I installed the gvfs and libimobiledevice so as to access an iPhone. Instructions on using this software I found on the Internet indicated I should add my non-root user to group use. I do not have a group fuse. I found nothing indicating that any part of the installation failed. Nor is the iPhone mounted anywhere.

Nor, as far as I can tell, are there any instructions for the user on how to proceed.

udev appears to detect the iPhone correctly, and usbmuxd appears to be doing its job. libimobiledevice appears to work and recover accurate information from the iPhone.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?

No group fuse, and possibly other setup also failed.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I expect to follow appropriate instructions as needed, and eventually to mount my iPhone and sync with it. Better yet, I expect it to Just Work.
