perhaps bug in 'gksu' ?

Hello there ...

Since about 4 days I encounter a problem executing
the 'Root Terminal' from within Debian Mate desktop.
Clicking the Icon was OK until then and a terminal was
opened where I was asked for the root password.

But now the terminal window doesn't appear and nothing happens.

I changed the properties sothat the application is started
within another terminal and I had a chance to snapshot
the error message:

What to do ?

I guess that the automatic update (weekly enabled) is the reason that it 
suddenly
occured although I didn't change something ?

My system:
Debian stretch with own kernel:

'uname -a' outputs: "Linux dk7ub-7d 4.9.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.51-1 
(2017-09-28) x86_64 GNU/Linux"
