Awesome. As it turns out, this is actually an issue in buildah
and needs to be fixed there. The patch for this can be found here:
https://patch-diff.githubusercontent.com/raw/containers/buildah/pull/2967.patch

As for timing, I'd prefer to let the current packages migrate to testing
first,
but if you (or anyone else) feels strongly and where to raise this to RC,
I'd prioritize the upload.
