I just wanted to add that the daemon less + rootless mode is the main 
reason for me for using podman. I think nftables is default since 
buster, although you probably still can install both packages side by 
side and emulate one thing on top of the other, i would really like to 
avoid installing iptables again after migrating to nft and removing all 
translation layers from one to the other, esp since iptables isn't 
needed in rootless mode of podman.

if there is a way to put iptables back from depends to recommends: +1 
from me
