[Pkg-gridengine-devel] manual setup not successful

Hi,

I made some updates to the packaging today, including an update to a new
CVS tag V61_TAG, probably an upcoming upstream release.

Then I tried the generated packages on a test machine (all packages +
daemons on a single machine, currently no execd-only host at hand) and
followed the instructions from README.Debian.

The following commands seem to fail:

 * init global configuration:
   # /usr/lib/gridengine/spooldefaults configuration
/var/lib/gridengine/default/common/configuration
 * init complexes:
   # /usr/lib/gridengine/spooldefaults complexes
/usr/share/gridengine/centry
 * init default usersets:
   # /usr/lib/gridengine/spooldefaults usersets
/usr/share/gridengine/usersets

- spooldefaults exits with exit code 1
- there is no output at all
- there are no files created in /var/{lib,spool}/gridengine

Starting master does not work, too.

- exits with exit code 0, no output, no daemon running

If I create /var/lib/gridengine/default/common/act_qmaster manually, I
can start sge_execd and sge_schedd (which complain about being unable to
connect to the master daemon).

Have a nice long weekend.

Andreas
