Bug#229647: update-grub runs forever when there are symlinks in /boot

Package: grub
Version: 0.93+cvs20031021-8
Severity: normal

I have /boot as an extra partition and had (among others) the files

"vmlinuz-2.4.20-bf2.4"
"vmlinuz-bf" symlinked relative just to "vmlinuz-2.4.20-bf2.4"

in it. The symlink is historical, and was used with lilo before.
Running update-grub in this situation lets update-grub never finish execution.

After deleting the symlink, it runs just fine.

Maybe you want correct these spelling errors in update-grub, too
(don't want to file an extra bug for this):

line 524: "menu.lst" instead of "menu.list"
line 585: "options" instead of "optons"
line 593: "specific" instead of "specifiv"
