It would also be nice to check for existence of the symbolic link "boot
-> ." in /boot, and add it if there is not one there.  This is because
the kernel image installer creates full path symlinks for vmlinuz and
initrd.img such as "vmlinuz -> /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.4-1-k7".  Such links
confuse grub during the boot time because its root filesystem is only
limited to the boot partition.

Adding the symbolic link "boot" to the /boot partition will work around
this issue.
