Hello,

I can confirm this bug with package "1.96+20080203-1".
I purged all grub stuff and dropped /boot/grub. Then I installed grub-pc
and ran update-grub.
grub-cfg looked sane but I can't reboot anymore.

He is some informations about my system:
arch: amd64
branch: lenny with some sid parts
disk subsystem: silicon image sil3132 sata controller, one 400Gb sata
disk on it (nothing else, except a sata dvdrw)
partitionning: no /boot; / is on XFS filesystems and is the first partition

Some things that are suspicious:
"hd0,0" with grub1 has turned into "hd0,1" (maybe grub changed its
naming shema to match linux' one ?)
I can't type "linux" in the grub2 shell (unknown command). "help"
doesn't list this command
When running "insmod normal" i get an "out of partition" error.

Please ask me all that could be useful to fix that bug.

Regards, Adam.
