Yes.

This is normal when you're in rescue mode.

I just uploaded 1.96+20080210-1, which includes:

    - Errors that cause GRUB to enter rescue mode are displayed now.
      (Closes: #425149)

Please can you try it and report the reason you got into rescue mode?
