Bug#565706: grub-pc: grub2 enters rescue mode with "fd0 cannot get C/H/S values"

Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98~20100101-1
Severity: serious

Grub2 enters the rescue mode after printing
error: fd0 cannot get C/H/S values

The box does not have a floppy drive. (And even BIOS is configured to
have floppy drive and floppy controller as absent.)
The boot partition is an MD RAID1 of two real disk partitions
(/dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1).

After typing "insmod normal" and "normal" (and nothing else)
the box boots fine.
