I hope you made a joke when you said "simple", because it's very much
not simple to judge if we should. But, for some context, if you look at
the RC bug list currently effecting trixie you will see that there are
several bugs open against grub* with numbers older than the bookworm
release. You can also see that during the release cycle of bookworm I
tried to draw wider attention to these bugs [1].
I don't know yet what we will do by the time we're otherwise ready and
this bug isn't solved, but I can't promise now that we'll not release.
I've not spend enough time on the problem, its conditions, relevancy and
its implications yet to judge.
You still have time to fix the bug. It's better to use the time for that
than this discussion now. The bug needs fixing anyways. This discussion
becomes moot after that.

Nothing, wait for the bug to be fixed. Or do you think there's something
else we could do? You wouldn't want me to change code in grub.
