Severity: normal

I just installed kaffe and now I'm trying to use it as an alternative to
gij. But update-alternatives doesn't offer me
/usr/lib/kaffe/pthreads/jre/bin/java as an alternative for
/usr/bin/gij-wrapper-3.4

~ $sudo update-alternatives --display java
java - status is auto.
 link currently points to /usr/bin/gij-wrapper-3.4
/usr/bin/gij-wrapper-3.4 - priority 33
 slave java.1.gz: /usr/share/man/man1/gij-wrapper-3.4.1.gz
Current `best' version is /usr/bin/gij-wrapper-3.4.

Hi Michael,

I've just install kaffe-pthreads in a clean chroot and it does provide a
java alternative.

I did have *no* java alternative before installing it, and apt-get
install kaffe-pthreads did create one.

If the problem is is still there for you with
kaffe-pthreads_1.1.4.PRECVS12-1, or if I missunderstood something,
please, re-open the bug.

Thanks for your report,
