I've had a good look at this package and what it would take to upgrade
it to the latest upstream version, and I am afraid it would be quite a
large change from the current version.

Since we're currently in the soft-freeze and I'm not exactly fluent in
Java, I don't think it's a good idea for me to try and update the
package to 0.9.7, as it might create breakage I wouldn't be equipped to fix.

I'm thus removing myself as owner for this bug and I'll ask for help on
the Java Team mailing list instead.
