Newer terser-webpack-plugin is only compatible with terser 5. Since Debian only has terser 4, the ideal fix is updating terser to 5. I think that is why it was filed against node-terser (requesting new upstream version).

But as an alternative solution for short term (until node-terser 5 is available), Caleb has provided a patch for terser-webpack-plugin which makes the plugin work with both terser 4 and 5.

Caleb, please send the patch against webpack package.
