Thanks for the clarification.
What you describe I can understand as one of two things:
a) your test was for the existing Debian package in unstable, changed
to include a patch cherry-picked from upstream git repo.
b) your test was *not* for existing Debian package in unstable, but
instead for some other branced-off work using a different version of
the NodeJS module.
If it was a) then please share the patch that you used, so that your
test can be repeated by others.
If it was b) then please make it *very* clear that you are talking about
something not directly actionable for this package in Debian but instead
an unofficial experiment.
...and of cause, if it was neither a) nor b) then I failed at even
guessing what you are talking about: Please enlighten me. :-)
Experiments can be helpful - I am not saying "go away!" but it not
clearly communicated as such the confusion can be wasteful in time and
attention.
