This means we should solve somehow the problems of the console.  I've
heard some of the other distributions have somehow achieved better
Unicode support on the console.

This means that the setfont and console-chars utilities have also to
be moved from /usr/bin to /bin.

It is possible to use the boot loader - grub or lilo - to load the
font very early but I don't know if it is possible to switch to
Unicode mode that early.  Maybe there is some handy boot argument of
the kernel?
