[Pkg-kde-extras] Digikam packaging

Hi all:

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but why is it taking so 
long to have a recent version of Digikam in Debian repositories?

Is there any way I can help?

Or can anyone give me some hints on how to build it myself?
