Dear Maintainer,

* What led up to the situation?
Intention to use "Color Effects" functionality of showfoto

* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I've opened a photo then clicked on "Effects | Color Effects"

* What was the outcome of this action?
showfoto crashed. Behaviour can be reproduced consistently.

* What outcome did you expect instead?
no crashing :)

I've posted this to the backports mailing list but was referred to the package maintainers. cf:

Issue seems to be fixed already in version 5.6.0, cf:
