Package: kmymoney
Version: 5.0.5-1
Severity: important

Dear Pino,

Starting from today KMyMoney 5.0.5 HBCI/FinTS stopped working with one
banking institute I have an account with, due to new PSD 2 regulations:

HBCI: 3075 - Banking-Programm muss zum 14.09.2019 auf PSD2 umgestellt werden. (M)
HBCI: 3079 - Bitte wenden Sie sich an den Hersteller des Banking-Programms. (S)
HBCI: 9078 - Dialog abgebrochen - Banking-Programm ist nicht registriert. (S)

This basically means that the HBCI transaction has been aborted by the
banking server cause KMyMoney is not registered.

PSD 2 requires banking applications to be registered, i.e. so send an
registration code. AQBanking 5.8.2 allows for that. But only KMyMoney 5.0.6
actually uses that new features. That does not really give any security,
since it is just a number being transferred, but it is required by PSD 2.

So please update the packaging of KMyMoney to 5.0.6. In case you need
someone to test before uploading to the archive, please let me know.

Some banking institutes also require a second factor during authentication
already or will do so soon, a TAN number usually. This AFAIK is not yet
implemented in the current stable AQBanking version. I do not know whether
this also needs some changes in KMyMoney. So there may be further updates
required as they become available, but updating to 5.0.6 already allows
KMyMoney HBCI/FinTS transfer to work with some of the banking institutes
again that currently forbid it.

All of this of course means that with Debian Buster HBCI/FinTS will stop
working with more and more banking institutes unless backports are provided.
However I fully understand and appreciate that backports would be quite
some additional work for a small team, or basically just you working on the
package. I personally do not need backports as I use Debian Sid.

(I am not a fan of PSD 2, not at all, but that is off topic for this bug
report.)

Thank you very much,
Martin
