Package: labplot
Version: 2.8.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
it semms that labplot has some issues with it's curve fitting uttility.

When trying to fit a curve based on data from a table it succedes when using
one of the provided basic functions but when using a custom function it's not
able to perform the fit. The field where the custom equation is written stays
red and the fit does not succede.
Additionally after trying to perform a custom fit, it is impossible to fit
any curve using a predefined fit model like polinomials. No fit will appear
and the constants stay at their starting value.

To recreate this:
Open labplot, create new document, create new table, put values into the table,
make a plot from the table data, switch off the lines of the plot and use
symbols instead, try to fit the curve (if there is some basic function selected
the fit will succede here), try to fit using custom equation

Result:
No fit will be performed, the field where the custom equation is written stays
red. After this action fits using predefined model curves
like polynomials will also not be performed.

Sinerencly

Marcel
