Please find a Debian Salsa merge request, added by this message as the
forwarded URL for this bug, that applies the patch from this bugreport and
confirms that it reduces buildpath variance for soundkonverter.

Two commits in the merge request are particularly relevant:

  * 099c4dcc4d038727e57b380e219d5512059a9615 - enables build-path variance
    testing, _without_ the patch applied; the 'reprotest' pipeline fails.

  * c5d0d82ff446333768b201e729773064c5fe33de - after a few false starts,
    correctly applies the patch; the 'reprotest' pipeline succeeds.

The other commits included in the merge request are me gradually and sometimes
mistakenly working towards those checkpoints.
