I am working on kdebase3-legacy and wondering if b) won't make systemsettings 
and kcontrol interfere badly. there are automatic kconf_update tokens to 
migrate a .kde from kde3 to kde4 settings, but I wonder how kde3 apps handle 
the updated config.
For instance, one should check we can use .kde for both and still change kde3 
colors/style/fonts without messing up the kde4 configuration. If not, we have 
to disable these KCMs too.
