There's an upstream fix published between 9.0.0 and 9.1.0:

I've verified it does the trick when added on top of the debian/bookworm
branch, and built for bookworm.
I've just created an MR for that:

and I'm also attaching the source debdiff.
It'd be nice to include this bugfix alongside the next set of
security/stability fixes, should such an upload be needed.
